These meetings are each month of the year except July, August and December. The group was organized in 1983 and became a Chapter member of the OGS in 1986, Please join us in researching ancestors in Putnam County, Ohio!

Our Members

Our Society has a limited number of working members. We could use anyone who would like to help out. We are still updating our books on cemetery records and could use anyone who is interested in helping with this. Young members are always welcome!

Dues

Dues are $ 10.00 for individual, $ 12.00 for double and $ 125.00 for a life time membership. Membership includes the Putnam County Pastfinder Newsletter that is sent to members four times a year with an index at the end of the year. (When sending in your membership, please also include Surnames you are researching and a five-generation chart. These should be updated yearly for Society records. Surnames will be added to the newsletter.)

Research

Note: The Society Volunteers also do genealogy research by providing a name index search of the books and files in the Putnam County District Library. Cost is postage and copying fees. Please remember this may take awhile because at present only one volunteer is doing the research and it can get overwhelming. After the research is finished, if there is enough information, a query is written for the Society newsletter and a copy is sent to the requestor. A permission card is included for them to sign, date, and return to the Society so the family can be placed on file for future researchers.
