Mission Statement

The Putnam County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society was formed in 1982. The Purpose of the Society is:

  1. To build interest in preserving and collecting historical records of Putnam County.
  2. To take an active part in collecting records and making them available for use in genealogical research.
  3. To publish, if available, genealogical material by our society members.
  4. To encourage active membership in this society and to support the objectives of the Ohio Genealogical Society.

We Support...

The Society supports the Local HIstory and Genealogical Room of the Putnam County Library with materials and volunteer work.

We Accept...

Our Society accepts Five-Generation Charts. We also accept queries from members and non-members, and we will run them in our newsletter.
